Oh! Oh! the weavers are back PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jean

The weavers are back and it is with mixed feelings that I greet the arival of the first of them. By the height of their breeding season they nest in their hundreds outside the Ghost Mountain inn entrance in the big feaver trees  on either side of the main doors. Now they are very beautiful and their continuous chatter adds a great and festive atmosphere aas guests arrive BUT Oh! the poor gardens we have worked so hard on in their absence. What a mess - from the bird droppings on the walkways and plants to the stripping of any poor plant that even looks as if it may be nesting material. It also becomes dangerous to spend any time standing anywhere near the colony as they are quite accurate with those droppings and somehow it does not feel lucky when you are the one in the firing line.
