I think I will be suffering from empty nest syndrome soon. The tawny I have been watching grow up in its nest in a fever tree forest in Mkhuze Game Reserve (from when its parents mated, watching them feeding a little fluffy head, spending heart stopping moments as it practiced flying motions in the nest) has left the nest and although not yet flying is now practicing being an adult eagle on the higher branches of the tree.
