Wind Turbines ABC News reports that due to continuing pressure from environmental organisations there has been a change in the attitude and behavior of wind developers and the federal government. A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Wind Power is considered one of the "greenest" methods of generating power, other than the noise and threat of birds being killed by the massive turbine blades. Although it is important that these wind farms not be placed in migration paths and that R&D be done in to methods of detering birds from flying through the wind farms, research has shown that bird fatalities are relatively low (very much lower than power lines and other man-made structures) and birds generally steer clear of the turbines.
