I am extremely excited about next week… it is already starting to manifest in fitful sleeps! I have entered for a week-long bird-ringing course (Birdlife SA) @ Wakkerstroom. Just being able to bird Wakkerstroom is a thrill… being in a position to capture and have in hand those elusive wetland birds is giving me heart palpitations!

Now Gwendolen has coaxed me into “micro blogging”… Already an inkling of what awaits can be seen in the left column under #gbt - Twitter Search. So, info will be shared virtually as it happens. At the end I will post a proper blog on the week-long ringer’s course.

The program for each day (Monday to Friday) starts at 03:30, setting up mist nets and various other mechanisms to capture birds, well before sunrise. I can see that I’ll need to hit the sack early every night if I am going to cope with the long hours.

Keep your eyes peeled for those “micro bloggs”, okay!
